Meet our Animals - Diamond PythonMorelia spilota spilota or Diamond python are an eastern Australian python and the most southern python on the planet. Diamonds are dark grey or black body with a larger number of the scales having a white, cream or yellow dot some in a diamond pattern. Being a medium sized python of 2.5-3.0 mtrs they eat mainly mammals and birds and can go an extended period without feeding up to a year without any problems to their health. These placid pythons generally have a pleasant nature and make very good pets.
